THE UPSIDE OF DOWNSIZING:
SMALLER SPACE, BIGGER LIFE!

Downsizing has been part of my business for many years and there is an art to achieving the success a client desires. Wanting change can occur at all stages in a person’s lifecycle. It’s important to identify the major reason or reasons that you have you desiring change.

Some common reasons I’ve seen can include:

  • To achieve financial gain, live mortgage-free, or provide financial stability

  • Wanting more leisure, family, or travel time

  • To reduce the maintenance that is associated with larger homes

  • Possible personal health decline (or that of a family member) affecting present or future mobility

Once you’ve determined your reason for moving, it should be clear sailing, right?
But downsizing isn’t as straightforward as one might think. There's going to be emotional ties to these homes where your fond memories were made. Along with the fear of change itself, proximity to your circle of support, friends and health care providers, there are many, many factors to consider.

It begins with a clear vision for where you might see yourself in the future, then following it up making steps toward your goals.

People may feel bungalows are the answer to all their questions but with this being such a common thought, bungalows are becoming difficult to find.

Downsizing your living space doesn't mean you have to forgo the comforts and features of a larger home. As seen in photos from previous listings of mine, cleverly strategized use of space can make a major difference and magic can happen fitting things where you never thought possible.

This is where we can get creative together, let’s explore all the possibilities that downsizing provides!
